Assistant Professor, Dr. Emmanouil is recruiting a PhD student and a Postdoctoral Scholar to join his group starting Fall 2026. Their lab focuses on the intersection of hydroclimatic risk and resilient infrastructure.
PhD Position (Fall 2026)
Focusing on multivariate extremes and hydroclimatic risk assessment. Key research areas include:
- Compound events and severe storm impacts on infrastructure.
- Spatiotemporal downscaling via multifractal scaling arguments.
✅ Fully Funded Position
Candidate Profile:
Background in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, or Applied Math. Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB is required.
Postdoctoral Position (Fall 2026)
Supported through UCF’s Preeminent Postdoctoral Program (P3). Research scope includes:
- Stochastic and statistical hydrology.
- Hydrological-hydraulic modelling.
- Hydroclimatic extremes.
Qualifications:
Completed PhD, strong publication record, and demonstration of expertise in extreme value theory or hydraulic modelling.
